The Solomon Sire and the Fantastic Fib children's program, presented by author Diane E. Root, is a great way to reinforce character development and social-emotional learning in your preschoolers and early elementary-aged students.
By encouraging children to join in the fun, this interactive program's upbeat, humorous look at telling the truth will be remembered long after the session is done. The presentation can be delivered as an after-school enrichment program for children and their parents, or as an in-school extension to more formal SEL curriculums like Open Circle.
Each 45-minute program includes:
"Diane visited our school and gave a unique and exciting program for our Pre-K through 3rd graders. She took the students on a journey to truly understand the meaning of the story, and they were actively engaged for the entire program. They especially loved the challenge of 'mastering the fib', which included singing and a puppet show! Our students responded in such a positive way! We loved it!"
--Jennifer Pack, Principal, The Brighton School, Framingham, MA
"A thoroughly enjoyable hour for my 5- and 6-year olds! The many and varied activities held their interest and the message, while not at all heavy-handed, stuck: they each returned home able to more easily recognize their own--and each other's -- slips into less-than-truthfulness. We are all looking forward to Solomon Sire's next adventure!"
--Heather Gowdy, Southborough, MA
"Using a multimedia approach, Diane E. Root's program on telling the truth brought the wisdom of "Solomon" to a young group of children at our library. Her completely non-didactic presentation of "Solomon Sire and the Fantastic Fib" was a lot of fun...and I'm not lying!"
--Mark A. Malcolm, Children's Librarian, Maynard Public Library, MA
